John Lewis Good Trouble Lives On: “Teach, Reach, and Preach”

Time: 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Where: Fort Moses  Event  (Will be held outside; we will have access to the interior as well as the museum. Water will be supplied.) 

In honor of the late U.S. Congressman, John Lewis, SJCDBC will partner with our local Indivisible and the SJC Democratic Party, to celebrate his life and legacy.  Mr. Lewis championed the Voting Rights Act and education through reading.  Both are under assault here in Florida and at the National Level.  We must carry on his work!

SJCDBC Books Across SJC

Time: 9:00 am 

Where: 6284 Armstrong Rd Elkton 

SJCDBC will be at the Grand Opening of the New Community Center in Elkton.  We will be hosting another Free Book Event just in time for kids to start thinking about going back to school in conjunction with the Grand Opening having a Back2School Bash!  There will be Free backpacks, free food, music, free school supplies and games there!

Equal Ground 2026 FL Legislation Session Debriefing Tour

Following Florida’s 2026 Legislative Session, Equal Ground is partnering with our organization, Indivisible SJC, and the St. Augustine Beach Democratic Club for a nonpartisan wrap-up event. We’ll break down major new laws and policy changes, exploring what they mean for everyday Floridians—with a focus on voting rights, education, criminal justice, and economic opportunity. Join us to learn how these decisions impact our communities, particularly Black and historically underrepresented voices.
